Special abilities are supposed to give you an advantage. Mean of rolling (1, 3, 5) is 3, while mean of rolling (2, 4, 6) is 4. So in the long run, this ability will subtract from your rolls more than it adds. If odd subtracted and even added, there would be a slight advantage in it, and people could take it for its flavor, but as it stands, it's hard to imagine anyone taking it instead of anything useful.
